Group: Audience Research - Evaluation

  • 41/50 of those questioned either approved or strongly approved of female protagonists, so we now feel confident in our choice of characters
  • Surprisingly, the majority wanted the death to be only ‘gory’ as opposed to ‘extremely gory,’ so we may chose to tone down the violence of the opening slightly.
  • 60% of people stated that they felt a slow paced zombie would be more effective at creating fear, so we will keep this in mind when directing our performers for the zombies.
  • 56% answered that they felt the opening should be set at dusk, so we will take this into consideration. However, this may pose practical problems when shooting the piece, so we may instead chose evening, which received 30% of the vote.
In total, 56 people answered our survey. While we feel this was enough people for our results to be reliable, it may not represent the opinion of our target audience on the whole. Almost all of the responses were from people our age, approximately 13-18 years old, so the data is accurate for a significant proportion of the age range which our target audience applies to.
